Wrapping up #junicorn by figuring out how a camera

Wrapping up #junicorn by figuring out how a camera works and doodling for five minutes. Because I'm burnt out.

Lessons learned, I'm giving myself weekends off for any future prompt list. Some of the prompts, I combined or seemingly skipped (read, did not post--I DID complete all of them, but even I have some standards of quality control).

I also missed just doodling. This kind is my favorite, when I'm too tired to care about bones and it's just an "idea drawing." Skewed perspective of the torso and all. Other times you've got "time to work" drawings, which hopefully retain some of their pre-skeletal dynamism, but they take a lot longer for obvious reasons, and trying to spin out one a day is kind of nuts. So color me a bit relieved to end #junicorn2023 on a doodling note.

Back to your tents! Hey, you--you have ears?! Yeah, Macedonians, Mongolians--quit lookin' at the spooks, boy, get your arse in here!

Alright. Quit shaking, tie that flap shut. I'll try to unscramble your brains a bit. You ever see a unicorn? Just outside, yeah, thanks Aristotle, I saw it. So here's the tricky thing, about unicorns. They don't exist. Not to say they aren't real, but they don't *exist.* Nothing perfect does..but that horned beastie out there, that's the living embodiment of imagination. Least I think that's how my tutor put it.

You know...pure wonder, pure of heart, all that poetic crap. That's why it's those dreamer and artist types that usually see them.

So, you hear the part about how they can raise the dead? Cause that part--that part's true, in a manner of speaking. That's why you got those spooks galloping by out there, except they don't exist either. See, kid, it's not the Great Khan that rode his pony over your foot. It's the idea of him. Still hurt like hell, didn't it? Reckon he broke your toes.

Now I don't know what lord numnut down there did to piss off a unicorn. But it's not something I want anything to do with, and you can forget that little dagger you brought. This whole army's outclassed, our enemy's a dead man, and we're going home.

Oh I'm very sure. You're gonna find this out as you get older: ideas are dangerous. Stronger than anything in this life. If you want to fight so bad, think those great warlords you idolize. Give the beast some ideas.
